Yes.. I have the pocket games from the 80s.. We played Ogre and Gev a lot. I found a personal version of Ogre on BGG that had all new artwork. After seeing some of the completed games that other people had built using the artwork, I decided to make my own.
I printed out the counters on 8.5" x 11" sticker sheets. I used 1" square laser-cut mdf bases that I spray painted. Stick the stickers to the bases, brush on a coat of matte medium to seal it all in.
Now I need to plot out the map and print out some charts and Ogre stat sheets.
And here's the map. I plotted it out on a 36" wide roll of paper. I'm planning on mounting it to some hardboard or foamcore and seal it with matte medium.
I've already started working on making new, larger counters for GEV and Shockwave using the original artwork. I may have to go back and make a set of original Ogre counters as well.
You might want to test a sample with the matte medium. I'd be afraid it would make the ink bleed. I think it might be expensive, but what about laminating it?
ReplyDeleteI actually had the image printed out on a vinyl banner. It's much sturdier and waterproof!
