Mini Mech - Southern Front! Historicon 2017 Scenario

Western Alliance forces were considerably reduced during the last counterattack. Mech units from the southern front were relocated, leaving only a few companies of mechs and some conventional forces to defend. Eastern Socialist Republic forces will try to take advantage of the WA weakness.

This scenario will use mech and conventional forces. See the latest version of the rules for conventional force stats.

Here's a sneak peak at one of the Super Heavy Tanks that the Western Alliance will be using to defend their southern border. Thanks Jon at GZG and Germy for the mash-up of gzg parts.

Jon at Ground Zero Games was awesome and sent a huge bag of 6mm walkers and vehicles for the prize packs. I cannot thank him enough!

Mini Mech - Fall in! 2016

Hold The Line!

Saturday - (5-9) PM, 4 Hours, 8 Players

Sponsored by: Ground Zero Games

Eastern Socialist Republic forces launch a massive counterattack, after the bold sneak attack, and withdrawal, by Western Alliance forces. Mini mech is a fun, fast paced, set of rules designed for simulated combat between companies of tiny mechs and combat walkers.

(WA) Light Mech Missle platform: Armor 3, Range 10, Damage 2 (move as light mech)

Special: Missle attack: Range 12, Damage 3 (one use per game)

Conventional Forces Movement

- Air Fighter moves during Light Mech activation

Conventional Forces Combat

New basing for my 6mm Sci Fi

Baccus Command Horizon human infantry and support weapons and light APCs

GZG NAC infantry, SJ Games Ogre light and heavy tanks, and some GZG Tortoise walkers

It's been a slow start to the year post-wise, but I've been working hard to re-base my old Command Horizon troops to something more usable with current 6mm sci fi rules. I'm definitely planning on playing some FWC with these factions, and hopefully try out some NetEpic as well. Adding conventional forces to Mini Mech is also on the list, and these troops will work fine for testing.

Most of the infantry has been re-based, with the exception of command bases for the green faction. I'm slowly getting the tanks re-based, trying to get core armies completed, before my ADD points me towards some other project.

This project has also revealed to me the shoebox full of bare metal 6mm sci fi still waiting to be based and painted. I'm gonna need a bigger boat.

Minimech test

I'd like to add conventional troops to the mix at some point and when I ran across a half-forgotten pack of GZG's NSL Powered Armor Infantry, I figured I'd give it a try and see how it works. Here's a size comparison shot.

More Minimech!

Had another chance to play-test the Minimech rules over the weekend. Got really good feedback and made some changes to the rules that will make it more fun. Some more play-testing and a friendly game at H-con and this thing should be ready to run at Fall in.

Mini Mech

I have this crazy idea to run a game using tiny mechs in an urban environment. Here is an assortment of mechs I've started working on, along with city squares that I made for an old game.
I'm developing some house rules to create a fun, fast paced and streamlined game with all the flavor of mech combat.

Just some pics of my Command Horizon bases. I relabeled a bunch of them for an Ogre game.

Progress on the M113s

I have added some turrets from GZG. I filled in the hole in the hull with epoxy putty and used magnets on the hull and turrets. I only had 3 turrets so I used one of the TOW units that came with the OG M113s. I had to file down the TOW hatch to get it to sit flush with the hull. For future reference, fill the TOW hatch with epoxy before adding the lid, to allow for more material for the magnet.

Now I've got some indirect fire to help out the infantry.

Future War Commander

Here are some GZG 15mm NAC I've been painting up for a FWC force. I've done some inking on the base itself to see how it would look. Left to right, gryphon sepia, devlan mud, and no ink.
